Bridging the Gap Between Civilians and the Heroes Who Serve

The Kaplan Public Service Foundation (KPSF) is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering understanding, support, and appreciation for the U.S. Military and their families. Through educational programs, philanthropic initiatives, and immersive experiences, we empower civilian leaders to engage with national security issues and deepen their connection with those who serve.

Our Mission and Impact

At KPSF, our mission is clear: to educate and inspire citizen leaders by providing firsthand insight into the challenges faced by the armed forces, their families, and the global partners who stand alongside them.

Through organized visits to military bases, allied installations, and diplomatic posts worldwide, we give civilians an unparalleled opportunity to engage with service members, diplomats, and military allies. These experiences transform participants into “information ambassadors,” who return with a profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by the U.S. Military and their families.

As retired Admiral Mark Fitzgerald of the U.S. Navy eloquently put it:
“The Kaplan Public Service Foundation provides invaluable support to our military men, women, and their families. Their efforts to educate civilians on the challenges our troops face in today’s environment pay the highest dividends.”

Bases and Communities We’ve Touched

Our foundation has visited and supported a wide range of military installations across the globe, including:
These visits allow us to witness the dedication of service members firsthand and ensure our support reaches those who need it most.

Why We Do What We Do

While phrases like “thank you for your service” are often spoken, the reality is that most Americans have little personal connection to the military. The Kaplan Public Service Foundation bridges this gap, offering civilians meaningful ways to turn their gratitude into action.
As Captain Nicholas Westendorf, U.S. Army (retired), shared:

“The Kaplan Public Service Foundation is investing in what I believe to be our nation’s most valuable asset – the young American Soldier. Their selfless service, generosity, and commitment have changed lives, including those of my platoon. For this, my troops and I are eternally grateful.”

Join Our Mission

Whether through donations, participation in our programs, or sharing our message, every effort helps bridge the divide between military and civilian communities. Together, we can ensure that the service and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes are never forgotten.
